Maggie Gyllenhaal was bombarded with 5am phone calls when the Oscar nominations were announced.
The 32-year-old star is up for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Crazy Heart' at next month's ceremony and says everyone wanted to congratulate her when they heard the news.
Recalling the fateful day on February 2, Maggie - whose brother Jake Gyllenhaal was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2005 Oscars - said: "My phone started ringing at 5 o'clock in the morning, and there's that first batch of phone calls from people who are up that early in the morning. I remember Jake looked at me and said, 'Your phone is going to be like that all day.' It was true."
"I thought about going to sleep after that first 5 o'clock rush of calls, and he said, 'Don't go to sleep. Who knows when this will happen again. Stay up. Have some coffee.' "
Jake has also advised his elder sibling to enjoy every moment of her nomination but not to get carried away by her success.
She revealed: "He said, 'It's a lot of fun, and enjoy it in that spirit. If you make it too much more than that, you'll probably go astray.' "
