Yet more names were added to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay line-up this week, as golden oldies Madness prepared to share the stage with young indie-rockers The Enemy
Not for nothing is Edinburgh’s Hogmanay thought to be one of the best in the world; four days of festivities jam-packed around one of the biggest street parties in the world. Now, after a lacklustre start, it seems the names are coming thick and fast. Young pups The Enemy are the latest headliners to be added to the bill; they’ll showcase their wares on the Waverley Stage alongside Frightened Rabbit and Edinburgh rap-jazz collective Stanley Odd. Also in residence is Edinburgh based 4-piece We Were Promised Jet Packs and BBC Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway, who’ll rock up to guest DJ proceedings.
This little lot seout their stall alongside new band Codeine Velvet Club, who kick-off proceedings and the previously announced Noisettes and Madness. Also confirmed are the ever-popular Cuban Brothers and Glitter Banditz, primed to present an evening of music at The Mound Party Stage, hosted by special guest DJ The Great Calverto. This accompanies the previously announced West End DJ Stage, boasting DJ Mylo with special guest DJs Gary & Tom from Snow Patrol and Richard Colburn from Belle & Sebastian.
Tickets can be bought online at www.edinburghshogmanay.com; by calling the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Box Office on 0844 894 2010 or in person at Tickets Scotland LTD, 127 Rose Street, or Ripping Records, 91 South Bridge, Edinburgh.
