The Tale of Genji

Drawn from the Henry Dyer collection of Japanese art, this exhibition features reproduced pages from the 1857 woodblock printed album, Murasaki Shikibu Genji Cards, inspired by Ryutei Tanehiko’s serial novel Fate Murasaki and A Rustic Genji, itself a parody of an 11th century classic. The exhibition is partnered with the Dai Nippon: Kabuki display on show at Glasgow School of Art, also featuring works drawn from the Dyer collection.

Central Library, 242 8040, 31 Aug–10 Oct (not Sun), free.
