Jean Michel Gauffre of La Garrigue has taken over the old Duck’s at Le Marche Noir in the New Town and plans to open this fine-dining vegetarian restaurant in late August. He promises ‘a French twist’ to the dishes, with prices set at around £16-17 for two courses.

Iwan and Reiko Sasaki’s delightful little takeaway/café in Ibrox where the wholesome whimsy of the name extends to the menu, which alliteratively encompasses home-made soups, stew, sandwiches and sushi in imaginative combinations of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Rhubarb

The swankiest of surroundings for the restaurant in the five-star hotel run by James Thomson of Witchery fame. It takes it name from the fact that the vegetable was first introduced to Britain in the eighteenth century by Sir Alexander Dick of Prestonfield.

Will M. Gauffre be completely up-to-date with this fine-dining restaurant, and be truly 100% vegetarian?
Rather than being 40 years out of date, but following the amazing example of Saf in London and going 100% botanical with no unhealthy animal fats?
