● The main feature of The Yard, a new family restaurant and bar off Bonnington Road near Leith, is a large enclosed courtyard for outdoor eating with a decent chunk of it given over as a children’s play area. ● August is the month for the 7th annual Gourmet Glasgow dining out festival, run by the Glasgow Restaurateurs Association, with highlights including a seafood week at An Lochan and Dine Around deals from £15 per person with a free dram from sponsors Auchentoshan included. ● Villeneuve Wines, which has shops in Peebles, Haddington and Broughton Street in Edinburgh, has opened up a fourth premises at 51 William Street in Edinburgh’s West End, setting up a partnership with Rocco Venezia, who make, import and sell prosecco and other luxury Italian goodies.
