SECC date will be the only UK show outside London
American alternative rock legends Pixies have announced a date at the SECC, Glasgow, on Sun 4 Aug.
Since reforming in 2004 after an eleven-year split, the Boston quartet - Frank 'Black Francis' Black, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and Kim Deal - have played Scotland twice, once at T in the Park and most recently at a 2005 T on the Fringe (now The Edge) show at Edinburgh's Meadowbank Stadium.
This date will see them perform their 1989 album Doolittle (which featured the songs 'Monkey Gone to Heaven', 'Debaser' and 'Here Comes Your Man') in its entirety, before going on to play a selection of songs from throughout their career. The band will shortly release Minotaur, a boxset of all their studio albums and an unreleased 1991 Brixton live show.
Tickets will go on sale at 9am tomorrow (Fri 3 Jul) and are available from www.gigsinscotland.com or by calling 08444 990 999.
