David Duchovny is planning to renew his wedding vows with his actress wife Tea Leoni, it has been claimed.

The 'X-Files' star wants to reaffirm his commitment to wife Tea Leoni - who he briefly split from late last year following his treatment for sex addiction - and is planning a lavish ceremony in November.

A source said: "After 12 years of marriage and so many ups and downs, they really want to recommit to each other. They're looking forward to a fresh start.

"They went through hell but somehow they managed to reignite their spark. David realises how close he came to losing it all so he especially wants to have their family and closest friends on hand to witness his second chance at happiness."

David reportedly proposed for the second time to Tea - with who he has two children, Madelaine, 10, and Kyd, six - on their wedding anniversary on May 6.

The source added: "He dropped to one knee, asked Tea to marry him again and vowed, 'This time we'll get it right.' "
