No need to rely on the erratic Scottish sunshine with Passion Pit around. The Massachusetts fivesome evoke dreamy summer days with this heavily-anticipated debut offering, which turns out to be everything the hype had us hoping for and more.
A glorious mix of squelchy synths, elastic basslines, shimmering electronics, scratchy riffs and soaring falsetto vocals, Manners is packed to bursting with playful melodies that stick in your head from first listen. But it’s the ethereal production that really makes this record a masterclass in sonic innovation and a must-hear for fans of The Flaming Lips, MGMT, Empire of the Sun and, oh heck, all music lovers in general.
