Chef's Choice

Within minutes of leaving Edinburgh’s city centre, you can find yourself in beautiful countryside, on amazing sandy beaches or in friendly little fishing towns that are especially great for me when I’m looking to source the best produce around. When it comes to fresh local food, I am particularly passionate about what the east coast of Scotland has to offer. One of my favourite places to source seafood is Eyemouth where DR Collin and Sons offer an unrivalled selection which never fails to deliver on quality.

The first thing that hits you on the arrival here is the harbour’s distinct smell that brings back childhood memories of holidaying at the seaside. The fishermen in the area still boast Eyemouth’s ethic of hard work and toil and they deliver some of the most wonderful shellfish and seafood. At the Old Smokehouse you can purchase fresh smoked salmon which is simply delicious. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, offering advice whenever you need it. There is a traditional and old-fashioned sense of service here but they are always ahead of the competition when it comes to sourcing and serving unique artisan products.
