Edinburgh's Forest Cafe under threat due to licensing
One of Edinburgh’s cultural havens is under threat because of growing financial pressure. The Forest Café has lodged an application for a year-round alcohol licence to boost funds, but it faces resistance from the licensing board, which has concerns about the volunteer status of the Forest’s staff and about the café’s location in an area where it says no new licences should be given.
The Forest faces a council meeting on Monday 27 April and supporters are urged to make their voices heard.
