Alan Moore

There’s no point going over old ground: if you have even the vaguest interest in comics you’ll know of the genius of Alan Moore. Watchmen, V For Vendetta and From Hell are established classics of the medium, as of course is Saga of the Swamp Thing. Moore may have fallen out with DC in the intervening years – and there’s already been a myriad of Swamp Thing reprints on the market over the years – but this latest collection is the first ever to reprint Moore’s debut issue (‘Loose Ends’ Moore’s first American comic from 1983). A rare treat indeed, it’s a complete reinvention of the horror comic and justifiably where Moore made his first big impact; a darkly intelligent monster tale that completely subverts what had gone before.
