Richard Norris turns up on A Psychedelic Guide to Monsterism Island, which must be one of the most whacked-out comps ever. The follow-up to 2005’s The Sounds of Monsterism Island, this record expands upon the Monsterism characters created by project originator and Super Furry Animals sleeve designer Pete Fowler. Or at least the beautifully illustrated accompanying material does, whereas the music (from the likes of Luke Vibert, Cherrystones, Marc Shearer and, of course, Gruff Rhys) mixes ambient techno with a charming Radiophonic Workshop aesthetic.
