Former Spice Girl Mel B says she has collected "silly socks" since she was 12.

Mel B says she collects "silly socks".

The former Spice Girl - who is the current face of Ultimo lingerie - loves wearing humorous socks to red carpet events and has been obsessed with peculiar footwear since she was a child.

She said: "I collect silly socks. I have done since I was 12.

"I like wearing them because it doesn't matter where you are. You could be at a premiere or something and you know that you're wearing socks that say the most ridiculous thing on them or have the most ridiculous picture. You can always keep your humour."

Mel gave birth to Angel Iris - the daughter of actor Eddie Murphy - seventeen months ago, and has since shifted 56lbs in weight.

The 33-year-old star recently released a new fitness DVD 'Totally Fit' which shows just how she got back in shape.
