Scottish Chamber Orchestra: Mendelssohn 200
The first of a series of SCO concerts celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of German composer Felix Mendelssohn presents his music in the company of others who inspired him as well as those he himself inspired. Not just people, but places provided inspiration too, most significantly Scotland. The SCO’s second programme features the two most famous results of that association – the Hebrides Overture and Scottish Symphony.
Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh, Thu 8 & Sat 17 Jan; City Halls, Glasgow, Fri 9 & Fri 16 Jan; St Cuthbert’s Church, Edinburgh, Tue 13 Jan. (Classical)
