The Wizard of Never Woz

Typical! You wait years for a decent adaptation of that shining celluloid classic The Wizard of Oz to hit Glasgow, and then two come along at once. While the Citizens’ Theatre’s production is a straight adaptation of the screen musical, the Pavilion returns to L Frank Baum’s source novel to create an irreverent traditional panto, featuring High Road’s Derek Road in the titular role. Prepare to boo and hiss at Joyce Falconer from River City as the Wicked Witch of the West, while cheering on Dorothy, Toto and friends as they head on down the Yellow Brick Road.
