Former Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles says she finds it annoying when she is called a diva.

The former Destiny's Child singer insists her high-maintenance reputation is undeserved, and she is actually a normal girl.

When asked if it angers her when she is labelled a diva, Beyonce replied: "Definitely. At one point I was misunderstood a lot. But the more I meet people, I think people are beginning to feel a little differently about me."

Beyonce - who can next be seen starring as singer Etta James in new movie 'Cadillac Records' - also revealed she wants to be establish herself as a serious actress.

She added: "My goal is to become a successful actress in dramas that don't involve singing. I've been comfortable in singing role, but I don't want to be comfortable. I want non-singing roles that will challenge me.

"I want to open the door for black female entertainers and show them they can do anything."
