Solange Knowles is shaking off her sisterly ties (she’s Beyonce’s wee sis) with a touch of old school Motown and collaborations with every well-known producer in the hip hop world. Already making waves in the US, she’s now taking on the UK with the release of new single ‘Sandcastle Disco’, and a November tour to provide a much-needed injection of cheeky experimentalism and rosy jazz styling into that vibe already much vaunted by Winehouse/Adele/Duffy et al.
