Kanye West lined up for Glastonbury
Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis wants 'Stronger' rapper Kanye West to play at next year's event.
Michael Eavis wants Kanye West to play next year's Glastonbury festival.
The event's organiser is a huge fan of the 'Stronger' rapper and would love him to appear at the traditionally rain-soaked British event.
However, Eavis wants to avoid the controversy he caused this year by booking hip-hop star Jay-Z to headline one of the three nights, and intends to push Kanye down the bill.
He said: "We'd love to get Kanye West next. I love him. But I want to put him on the Other Stage, not on the main Pyramid Stage.
"We're going to go for more traditional headliners next year. We've got loads and loads of stuff planned but I'm keeping it close to my chest."
Although Eavis already has a number of acts in mind, he is struggling to find a legendary artist to fill the Sunday night slot.
One star he does have in mind is Prince, but fears he won't be able to afford the 'Purple Rain' singer.
Speaking at yesterday's Q Awards (06.10.08), he added to BANG Showbiz: "Prince would be great, but he's too expensive. I would love to have him but it's just too much money.
"And Dolly Parton won't do it. We were considering her for this year, but she didn't fancy it, for whatever reason."
