Susan Collis
This first solo installation from the Scottish artist was inspired by the building site from which the new Ingleby Gallery sprang. The viewer is confronted by what appears to be loose screws, hanging rawl plugs and an abandoned broom propped up against a wall. In a playful twist on the tendency for artists to transform everyday objects into valuable artworks, on closer inspection the debris in Collis' installation turns out to be composed of precious stones.
Ingleby Gallery, Edinburgh, until Wed 24 Sep.
