It’s fair to say that Pete’s a bit of a liability, there’s always a rumour flying about that he’s been arrested or that he’s cancelled the show, so his performance wasn’t something I’d really thought about.
However, I was pleasantly surprised and extremely impressed. With the full crowd in the palm of his hand he played a perfect mixture of Babyshambles and Libertines including favourite ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’. His witty musings and banter with the crowd was unexpected and at times had everyone laughing hard as he mocked the Scottish accent shouting “let all hell break loooose”, before bursting into Talking Heads classic ‘Psycho Killer’ then decided to take it down a notch or two with ‘Summertime’ by The Zombies. The most eloquent act of the festival.
