Ladytron

Since their debut album 604 in 2001 Ladytron have been writing, recording and touring relentlessly. With a fourth album now under their belt the band have an expansive repertoire with which to wow the crowds at Hydro Connect.

They make electronic pop music that has managed to impress the stick-with-what-we-know pop crowd and intrigue the we're-too-cool-for-school electro kids with singles like 'Destroy Everything You Touch'.
Latest album Velocifero has been described in places as goth pop (!) with a rich and multilayered sound achieved by using vintage keyboards and analogue equipment to create a perfect mix of catchy, danceable tunes, juxtaposed with more subversive and edgier works.

The band have produced remixes for Placebo, Blondie, Kings Of Leon, Soulwax and Bloc Party to name but a few, and after Trent Rezner personally invited them, they opened for Nine Inch Nails on their European tour. If they can impress that lot, I'd say there's hope for the Hydro Connect crowd. (LM)
